Bio

Dr. Ishfaq Nabi Najar earned his Ph.D. in Microbiology from Sikkim University, India, where his research focused on the “Bacterial diversity and antibiotic resistance profile of four Hot Springs of Sikkim.” He completed his M.Phil. in Microbiology at the same university and holds a Master’s in Biochemistry from the HNBG University Uttarakhand.

He has five years of postdoctoral experience and has worked in diverse areas of microbiology. Dr. Ishfaq began his research career as an intern at CSIR IIIM, Jammu, and later served as a Junior Research Fellow at Sikkim University. He has worked at reputed institutes like CSIR IMTECH Chandigarh and CSIR IIIM Jammu. Currently, he is a Project Research Scientist-II at SSIMS-RC in Davangere, Karnataka. Throughout his career, Dr. Ishfaq has taught various subjects related to microbiology and has been involved in significant research projects.

Dr. Ishfaq has published over 35 research articles in high-impact journals such as Science of the Total Environment, Frontiers in Microbiology, IJSEM, Scientific Reports, Environmental Science and Pollution Research, Systems Microbiology and Biomanufacturing, and Heliyon. His work has garnered attention for his contributions to understanding microbial diversity and its applications in environmental sustainability. He has also authored book chapters, review articles, and meta-analysis articles and presented his findings at national and international conferences, receiving accolades for his oral presentations.

His research expertise lies in microbial ecology, molecular biology, microbial genomics, metagenomics, antibiotic resistance mechanisms, and the biotechnological applications of microbial resources. Dr. Ishfaq actively participates in workshops and training programs, enhancing his bioinformatics and data analysis skills. Additionally, he serves as a regular reviewer for several scientific journals, contributing to advancing microbiological research.

His dedication to the field is evident in his commitment to addressing real-world challenges through innovative scientific inquiry, making him a valuable asset to the scientific community.
